Pav Bhaji buns

Here, the traditional Pav Bhaji is given a twist while serving it in the bun form. This becomes easier while serving to guests or friends coming over. Also, this tastes yum compared to traditional Pav Bhaji. So, go and try this yummy Pav Bhaji buns and feed your entire family.

Ingredients:
  • 8 Pav
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons Pav Bhaji masala
  • 3 tablespoons butter for toasting Pav
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 2 finely chopped medium onions
  • 1 chopped green chili
  • 1 tablespoon ginger garlic paste
  • 3 chopped medium tomatoes
  • 1 chopped medium capsicum
  • 1/4 cup blanched green peas
  • 4 medium potatoes- boiled, peeled and grated
  • Salt as required
  • Finely chopped coriander leaves
  • Few drops of lemon

Making of Pav Bhaji buns:

  1. Take a pan and heat oil and butter together. Once heated, add chopped onions and saute until lightly golden. Then add ginger-garlic paste and green chilies and saute them for about a minute.
  2. Add tomatoes and let them cook until soft and mushy or till the oil separates from the masala. Now, add capsicum, peas, potatoes and about one cup of water. Mix well and then mash all the vegetables using a potato masher.
  3. Now add Pav Bhaji masala, salt, and mix well. Now let the bhaji cook until the desired consistency is achieved. Add finely chopped coriander leaves, lemon juice, and one tablespoon of butter. Mix well if you wish to and then switch off the gas.
  4. Take a non-stick pan/ tava and heat it on a low flame. Meanwhile, slit the pavs without cutting through. Then place some bhaji inside the pav and spread it evenly. Now, apply some butter on both the outer surfaces of the pav.
  5. Then place the pav on the heated tava and roast on a low flame till golden and crisp on the outside. Yummy Pav Bhaji buns are ready to serve hot. Enjoy eating with your loved ones.
